A recent article in The Independent highlighted that the cost of batteries has fallen by a third since March 2022, which means that car manufacturers could offer electric vehicles at around the same price as internal combustion models with the same profit margin. That's important because until now private sales of electric vehicles have lagged sales to business customers and will see an acceleration towards the phasing out of petrol and diesel-powered vehicles.
